Default Demonstrators for Branson Hammer-In

Here's the list of demonstrators that have signed up so far for the event (Sept. 24/25). (As other demonstrators sign up, I will try to update the list.)

Jim Crowell: forging, grinding & Heat Treating a hunter blade for give-away
Brion Tomberlin: Heat Treating for ABS JS test knife
Jerry Lairson: fitting guards
Jerry Rados: green coal
Linda Ferguson: scrimshawing handles
Bill Miller: basic bladesmithing
Kyle Royer: bladesmithing a Bowie
Lyle Schow: filework
Tom & Tim McGinnis: grinding blades
Jim Krause: carving handles
Jason Burton: MC for cutting competition (Sat. after knife show)

As in years past, the event will be held at The Shepherd of the Hills Farm in Branson, Mo. Hope that you can join in the fun.

Gary

Great line-up Gary!
I strongly recommend hammer-ins to collectors.
They offer quite an education in a short period of time.

I've had fun at this one the last two years (As a spectator) and I intend to enjoy it for a third year!

Thanks Kevin & Allen.

Not everyone has returned their sign-up sheets but it looks to be around 50 makers at the knife show (hammer-in & knife show run simultaneously). Always a good time and being held in the fall for the first time should make it even better. If any of you can make it, please say hi as it's always nice to put faces to familiar names.

I will be there. It is only about a 40 mile trip.

Recent additions to demonstrators:

Bill Lyons & Bruce Norris.

Looks like it's shaping up to be quite an enjoyable cast of characters. Fall in the Ozarks is always a good time. [BTW: The big females should be congregating at the dam about that time for you trout fishermen.]

I'm in the process of making my first ever cutting competition knife. (My 64 year old elbow wants to give a big thank you to Brion Tomberlin for providing me with the horse stall mat for the handle) Don't know if I can keep up with the experienced cutters & young bucks but I'm going to do my best to make the chips fly. Who knows what events Jason Burton (competition MC)has planned for this year. Wish me luck. Hope you can join us for the fun.

Gary

It is fun to watch. But, I don't know if the world is ready for my cutting skills.

Heck Allen I still know the world is not ready for mine, but I don't care. It is a lot of fun. So get you a knife and join in. I am looking forward to the weekend Gary. You are very welcome for the handle material. I will see in a few weeks.
