Jerry I just mean how the damascus is kinda random but has an aggressive looking line or two toward the edge running all the way up and down the length of the blade. I'm not sure if this cleared up what I meant.

That's perfectly OK, Jon.
I believe this is the type pattern FISK damascus you are referring to?
Is similar to the Knight Founders.
I believe this particular damascus has baking lacquer applied as was popular among a few smiths during the period when this FIsk was made.

Thats the one. Mike Talanian also has a similar vintage fisk bowie with the same type of thing on the blade. I like the look alot.
