Default Photography: Getting it all together...

Some of you knife-guys must have travelled to visually amazing
places, in the USA or elsewhere in our world.
How about taking a break and looking for that amazing shot,
where everything came together? The lighting, the angle, the subject,
the lens and maybe even something more...

In my 45 years as a professional photographer I have come across only
about a dozen such situations, all of them when being in the right place,
at the right moment with the right camera and having sense enough to
take the shot correctly.

Here is one such example taken in Capri (Italy) in the 90s, using
Ektachrome transparencies, a 20mm wide angle lens and a ND filter to
enhance the depth of color in the sky and in the sea.

I shot all 36 frames, one every time a wave broke at my feet. Only one
picture showed the "perfect" semi-circle of the wave and it was therefore
the only picture that I kept...

All the best,
David Darom (ddd)

Ah, Kevin, Italy the wonderful... My wife and I have been to Italy
so many times and have enjoyed every minute too!!

Here are two more pictures I treasure from one of these trips.
Two pictures where everything really came together for me.

All the best,
David Darom (ddd)

Here is one picture that I dreamed of shooting for 50 years,
including in it somebody I cared for...

Lucky for me I nailed it just as the sun was setting, allowing
me to capture the tree trunks of these amazing giants beautifully
illuminated that magical day, with the last moments of sunlight...

All the best,
David Darom (ddd)

Looks like Kings Canyon or Sequoia National Park, about 50 mi from where I used to live. Gorgeous majestic beauty!

Best,

Bob

These trees are truly wonderful and should be a must see on everyone's list. I try to visit on a regular bases, bit longer drive since moving to Springville, but still worth it.
