I absolutely love both knives. Not because they are Hanson but because they are two REALLY NICE Hansons. You have good taste, sorry to hear you sold them.
Did you mean, "not" forgotten?

Corrected and I miss them already. Big Blue actually had a butt cap/skull crusher added that I did not photograph. Don is both a geat maker and great guy. I will have more of his work soon.
I have sold a lot of nice knives in the last couple of months. This is the first time I have sold any, but must admit I have me a special group of collectors in the process. I never knew any of you before and I really look forward to meeting you and many others at Blade 2010. Fortunately, I have a few very cool pieces in the works. Just making room. Here is the Ron Newton I also recently parted with. A perfect piece of Narwhal Ivory that I hunted down. Jon Last edited by Jon Klein; 12-09-2009 at 01:24 AM. |

I love narwhal ivory. The grain is superb. I sold an Alain Desaulniers mini-wilderness style which had that gorgeous wrap-around grain.
I am sure we both miss our narwhal pieces! Now, I must divest of two exquisite African elephant ivory Warenskis, for nothing more than political reasons, it sucks! Last edited by Bob Betzner; 12-09-2009 at 02:17 AM. |

It was really a fun project and Ron is fantastic to work with. The whole piece had a nautical theme, 2 dimension white shark image inlaid on sharks tooth damascus, with sharkskin sheat. 20" overall, a large piece suited to the size of the Narwhal ivory I located. If you can tell it was pretty much a flawless piece of ivory.
Speaking of that here is the Horrigan with walrus I also parted with. His work is super solid. Really it is not as bad as it looks, I have some really cool pieces coming. I will be happy to post them starting in the spring. If I did this properly there are larger phoros on the next page's post! Last edited by Jon Klein; 12-09-2009 at 07:29 PM. |

Marcel,
You certainly do and thanks for the intro. Here is another one he will receive this morning. I just had the pearl changed to these bark ivory scales. Jon |
