Murray, I hate to even think where custom knives would be today without you dedicated photographers who unselfishly share your images with the world. And as that's not enough you, Buddy, Coop, Chuck, David, Eric and Terrill share your knowledge, experience and expertise with anyone wanting to learn resulting in even more beautiful knife photos.
My hat's off to you guys as you go above and beyond.

Probably the biggest tragedy of losing the content of our original forum was the lost of all the photos from your and Phyllis's whirlwind US knife show tour of two years ago.

Thanks Kevin. BTW -- if you go to my site and then look in the list, you will find the shows that we attended during 2008 so anyone that wants to look at the images can do so that way. I know I have the whole text etc for the Troy show and i might have the same for the others on my laptop. Will have to fire it up and see. If anyone wants those shows in the CKCA shows let me know and if I have the text with the links I can repost but of course the comments by others would be lost.

Larry, I was going to do this and was hoping things were like the previous forum where one could post any length of text with any # of images but it seems this forum is like BF and only allows 10000 characters and 10 images at a time. Too bad as that is a lot more work but I will see. I have not fired up the lappy yet either to see if the shows are saved there.

THis may be late, but I want to second the canon s90. I've been using it for months and its great. At shows it takes pretty good fast pics of knives. Also takes good low light photos. Lense seems fast and takes real vivid shots.

Sometime after the first of the year with Xmas behind us I'm going to invest in a Cannon S 90 . It won't make me a pro but then again no camera would regardless of price . But I should be able to get some much better pics than what I presently am with my phone camera - Jerry

This thread was started almost exactly one year ago!

A similar question was posed on one of the engraving forums, and a few had VERY high opinions of the Canon G12 that sells for about $499. Also in that price range are some interesting Camcorder options.

I've been using dpreview for several years now, and it is about the best place for information I have found as DDD mentioned.

I'm in on the Canon S90. I've also had one. For a digicam, it's incredible.

Thanks for the information on the Canon G11. It sounds like its just the camera I need. Do you think that the new G12 is basically the same camera and as good as the G11? The G12 sells for $499.00 and is $100.00 less money. There have been some problems with the G11 lens cover scratching the lens and a few with lenses that stick that will not deploy. I am ready to purchase a good camera but dont know which would be better. I plan on shooting my own knives if possible. Any feedback will be appreciated. Regards to all. JR
