Default San Mai Recurve Hunter

One headed across the ocean.
1095/416 San Mai blade with stainless take-down fittings and Desert Ironwood handle.

Beautiful steel, Karl. It looks as if you put a couple of layers between the 416 & the 1095. Very nice effect! Am I right?

No, Gary, that's the visual display of what happens with the carbon and iron migration and welding of the two steels, as well as the hardness differential when it's hardened.
All those variations in alloy and hardness show up during the etch.

That is awesome! Love the large recurved blade. I bet it chops great for a hunter.
