The knife is finished, except for the engraving on the handle frame. Unfortunately, I lost the sheath this morning. Don't have enough material in stock to start over right now. Maybe I got a little too ambitious and was pushing too hard to get it completed. Looking at options to have a sheath on the table with the knife at the Banquet.

Guess I'll get started on the handle frame engraving.

This picture is for Kyle. Here's the handle parts, just before I epoxied them together. All of the parts are located with alignment pins. The Micarta core is in the center. The ivory is epoxied to .020 titanium. The pins and studs on the shields go through the ivory and titanium and are piened on the back.

That's a real beauty Steve, too bad about the sheath.

Steve, I think you know how much I love California style knives. I've been watching this progress a bit and have really enjoyed it. Oh, that's some dynamite looking ivory, there, buddy!

Best,

Bob

Thanks Gentlemen!! I'm glad that you both like the knife.

The engraving on the handle frame is going quite well. I expect to ship the knife to Buddy on or before April 27th.

The sheath; well, things like that happen. I could fix it, but I prefer to just start over. I have ordered more silver and will start on another sheath as soon as I finish the knife. It just sucks that I missed the timeline to send it to Buddy for photography. I hate being late.

I'm really looking forward to the Banquet and seeing everyone there!!

Great work Steve! I love it.

Here is another progress shot of the dagger I'm working on. It's getting close. I'll be spending a lot of time on it this week to try to finish it up.

In this picture, I have the damascus guard nearly ready to etch laying along with the general materials. Preban Elephant Ivory, and 14k Gold plate for some accents. Not shown is some gold pin stock and the damascus frame for the handle.

Thanks for the picture Steve! Your knife is looking really good as is Lin's dagger!

I am finishing my knife up today, all I have left to do is blue the front spacers and ship it off via USPS Express to Buddy so it'll get there before the deadline.

Won't be long now, I hear some knives are starting to show up at Buddy's.

As in past years, I will be starting a new thread to introduce and give details on the knives.

Man the mini show knives are looking good. Cannot wait to see more of them. The banquet is always a highlight and these pieces certainly add to the excitement. See you all soon.

Jon
