Default A week in the Wilderness.

My nephew and I set out for a week in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness that borders Northeastern Minnesota and Ontario.
1600+ square miles of canoe-only traffic that is still as it was when the French traders came in through the Hudson Bay so many hundreds of years ago.

Without a lot of details, I'll just show a few highlights of the trip in, and then end with our destination.
I will say that:
The portaging was treacherous.
The weather was brutal.
The fishing sucked.
We had a fabulous time.

Beautiful country. I once did 10 days canoeing through Algonquin park - an unforgettable experience.

Looks like fantastic territory in that area Karl. Surprising the fish weren't cooperating!

Time in the "wilderness" is ALWAYS time well spent in my opinion.
