Default Large Display Cases

Has anyone had any experience with Winchester Cases? I have some Forrest Cases and they are great for small displays and are reasonably priced, but I need something larger for a multiple display.

If you use the "Search" function in this subforum and in the "General Knife Discussion" subforum, using the searchword "Winchester", you'll find a good deal of info on Winchester.

Yes, Winchester is a great choice.
I believe in addition to their standard cases shown on their website they will also do custom items.

Just thinking, this would be a great company for the CKCA to negotiate a member discount from.

Ryan has talked with Jeff at Winchester Displays. We have seen them also, they are well crafted and beautiful. He does do custom sizes/orders. He does the Wanamacher Tulsa show. He brings several different styles and usually ends up not taking anything home. They are handcrafted also. Great work. It would be great to see a member discount with the company.

I have 1 fairly large cabinet from Jeff and he is about to finish 2 more for me, I think he does outstanding work, is easy to work with, and offers excellent value. I will post the other 2 as soon as he sends me some pics. He will make anything you can think of. One of my new pieces starts with a bookshelf, then a deep 5" sheath drawer with the top half containing glass shelves for displaying knives. I cannot say enough to recommend his work it is simply the best as far as I am concerned.

Jon

I have spoken with him regarding a discount. With his current workload, unstable cost of materials, he has not raised his prices and tends to try and give a good price from the get go. My cabinets were priced in my opinion significantly less than what I think it would cost IF I could find someone making a similar product. He would do this if he did not feel he was giving a very good price to start with and he really is.

Does anyone know if LED's are the best lights to keep inside a glass display cabinet? I need to avoid heat coming from the lights so it doesn't dry up my ivory. Thanks..
