Cool Aki - 2009

I will be posting up Eric Eggly's 2009 AKI photos over the next couple days.
Let's start with our member's knives first.
Thank you Eric for supplying these files.

I didn't supply details/descriptions for these knives, however if you questions I have an AKI book which offers quite a bit of information.

Tim Hancock:

Steve Johnson:
See this thread for Steve's remaining AKI knife and an interesting story to go along with it.

Kevin, it's good to finally see the knives. It is still hard to imagine how a knife looks only from the description in the AKI catalog.

Excellent photos and great knives all, so keep them coming.

Marcel

Those last two knives of Rick Eaton are very nice, a bit out of the ordinary and I like that. But the knives that impresses me the most are Larry's knives. Larry is my hero....I wanna be like Larry

I was one of the lucky who had 3 hours to handle all the
knives at this show. The knives that Larry Fuegen brought
to the show were an dazzling exhibition of knife art.

You would have been amazed beyond words, Marcel, no
doubt about that...

All the best,
David Darom (ddd)

Rick Eaton's Mediterranean dirk above is a wonderful piece of work. I dropped for it but was not drawn.

Larry Fuegen's table of knives, considered together along with those of the other participants, was chosen as 'the best' - meaning he won "The Buster Award." A very nice honor for Larry in memory of Buster Warenski. Here's my shot of Larry receiving that award:

Addendum: I spoke with more than a few folks who, just like my wife and I, were hot for Larry's push dagger. The other stuff is fantastic but that little push dagger was callin' out to lots of us!
