I'm glad to hear you all plan to attend the ABS expo. There should be some outstanding knives from some of the top bladesmiths in the country. These are 2 knives I plan to bring- hopefully others will post pictures of the knives they are bringing.

This is a new model SLIPJOINT folder ( # 1) that I designed. The blade is 3.125 " with carved steel bolsters, bark mammoth ivory handles and gold pins.

Gentlemans Dress Bowie. 8.25 inch ladder pattern Damascus blade, forged to shape. Carved Damascus guard and spacer with 14 k gold bands. Carved cream colored mammoth ivory handles with carved Sterling handle wrap. Scabbard is custom leather with Sterling silver throat and tip and 14 k gold trim.
I hope to get a set of Damascus spurs Texas style and a small Damascus hunter finished.

Larry, that handle wrap SERIOUSLY adds a whole 'nother dimension, it's really special. Don't mean to interrupt the discussion about San Antonio, but had to comment. I love every element of this Bowie, just gorgeous.

Best,

Bob Betzner

I've been busy working on knives and getting ready for the San Antonio show. Here is a folder that I will be bringing, 3 1/2" blade and 8 1/2" overall open. Hope to see you all there.

I'll let the pros give a real review, but suffice it (for now) to say that there were some phenomenal knives and loads of great people in San Antonio this weekend.

I had to leave last night, but got to spend all morning Friday in seminars and all afternoon handling some GREAT blades. The banquet was a blast, and a great joy for me to sit with the likes of Tommy Gann, John White and Nick Wheeler, fun guys. Bravo to all involved in putting this together!

Hopefully someone got some decent pictures...

Eli, it was great to see you again!!! Even better to have something to actually show you!!! ;) :D

I had a ton of fun in Texas this year. I think the show should be shorter on Saturday.... and so did everyone that talked to me about it... but I hear it might actually be longer next year.

It was fantastic to see Larry's work... As always, he leaves you with your jaw on the floor. Larry's table was one of the few that I really got to look over. I also had the pleasure of chatting with Larry at the airport.

To put it in perspective... Angi doesn't know knives, knife people, or shows very well yet... And she was amazed at how astonishingly talented Larry is, and at the same time is so incredibly humble. That sums him up pretty well in a single sentence!!! :)
