This is the second in a series of five, numbered, all Damascus,Ivory Handled knives, designed to serve both to showcase the maker's skills, and as a canvas for the talents of some of today's top engravers.

Legacy #1, made by John White, and engraved by Joe Mason, premiered at the 2009 Arkansas Custom Knifemaker's Show, where it won "Best Art Knife."It was documented by Jim Cooper's photography, and later presented in a custom fitted Huey case.

Here is Coop's photography of Legacy #2, made by John White, inlayed and engraved by Brian Hochstrat in platinum and three colors of gold: nine and one half inches of four-bar modified Turkish twist, 1084 & 15n20 damascus blade, with take-down Pre-Ban Elephant Ivory Frame handle. The inlayed and engraved Damascus and Ivory take-down tool itself takes down to reveal spare assembly pins.

This knife's owner will allow it to be displayed on my table at the Blade Show in a custom J.W.Winchester walnut and glass case.

The collaboration with the collector, engraver Brian Hochstrat, photographer Jim Cooper, and case-maker Jeffrey Slobodian has been a real joy to me. I hope you enjoy this look at the result.
