that looks like a Hideaway! One of my favourite BL designs.
I've gotten onto Bruce Bump's list for his version of the NY Special:D!

Hard to tell from the photo as both models are similar. The Hideout has about a 1" longer blade than the NY Special. Handle is longer too.

But doesn't the NYS have the snap sheath? This sheath isn't a snap sheath. Looks like a hideout, but what I know about Loveless models is miniscule.

The newer versions of the New York Special doesn't have a snap in sheath.

The snap sure doesn't add much to the looks of the NY Special IMO, I can see why they stopped doing it.
As per the photo the Hideout and NY Special are very similar except for size.

There's always been so much to learn about Loveless knives, glad an expert chimed in. Thanks, Charles for clarifying that point. I had no idea.
Best,

Hi Bob, I'm no expert by a long shot. Just learning a little at a time.
Jerry, Thanks for letting us have a look at a great knife.
Take care

Hi Guys - I can see where the sheath may have thrown you off . Also the angle of the photo makes the blade look longer than it actually is . However this is No Hideout . A Hideout not only is larger but also has more contoured handle slabs . This N Y Spec. has a 3 1/4" blade of ATS 34, all stainless hardware, and a black micarta handle . This photo was meant to be used as my new avatar and posted here by accident so I decided to leave it here . Anyway hope yall enjoyed it and thanks for your opinions and comments - Jerry
