This is a Dogbone Bowie that I recently got from Mastersmith John White. It has a 10 1/4" 6-bar Turkish Twist blade with Damascus and Sterling Silver trim with a Walrus Ivory handle.

This is the first Dogbone Bowie that John has made, but it is an exceptional knife. His fit and finish is second to none. John has posted a Work in Progress thread on Bladeforums.com to show how much work went into making this knife.

I received the knife a few months ago and after seeing it in person I asked John to make me a sheath for it. He would need the knife to fit the sheath, so before I returned it to John I had Jim Cooper photograph it.

John had the knife at the Arkansas Custom Kniofe show so many of you got a chance to see it in person. He also had Chuck Ward photograph the knife. It is great to have two first class photos of a great knife.

Had the opportunity to handle this beauty on a few occasions and it's an outstanding bowie on many levels. Hard to believe this was John's first Dogbone Bowie.

I also had the pleasure of seeing this knife in Arkansas. Without question one of the nicest, if not the nicest Dogbone I have seen. We all know what a great maker John is and this knife is an excellent showcase for his talent. Jim you are very fortunate to be the owner.

Congratulations and thank you for letting John share this fine knife with us.
