Fellas,
Last weekend I got bored and decided to make a light box from Coop's description posted on our forum. I am not a photographer by any means. I tinkered a little on photoshop express for MAC. Any suggestions for a complete novice.

Bob, if that is indeed your first knife photo, it is incredible. The one thing that stands out to me is the tip of the knife is a little dark indicating the need for your lighting to cover a larger area. You did a great job with the white balance and I really like the background. An excellent photo.......

Thanks Chuck,
I'm still learning how to use photoshop and my camera is pretty much point and click....lots to learn.

That is looking a lot better. I need to build one of those lighting set ups.

You need to try it Allen. It's not that I don't want to use the services of a professional, it's just very convenient.

I am with you. The professionals deliver more than just a picture.

Hi Bob,
First photo = Fair. Good start.
Second Photo = Great! Nicely done.
Questions:
What did you change on the second shot?
What are you using for a background?
Even thought it's so close, I would move the lighting out towards the ends just a *tad*.
More photos please. Try differences.
DIY = $$$ for more knives. :D

Wow! Bob, that's a fine photo of a fine knife.

I'm no photo expert (thankfully, we have those here) but that second pic looks pretty sharp to me. And you know I think the knife is sweet.

Bob, it's very likely that your success has enticed me to try to construct a tent as well.
I feel my photo below is so-so in regard to clarity and color, however it's been aggravating waiting for just the right time for just the right amount of natural light to enter a specific area of a certain room to even get this good quality.
If by some chance I get a decent photo it's more because of accident than any other reason. :(
