Merry Christmas to all the CKCA members.
Was wondering about a 2012 calendar?

Hey Joel. Good question. We were unable to pull the calendar together for 2012. Hopefully we can get back on track for next year. I just took my 2011 down and really wish I had one to replace it with.

Yes, we've been doing them every other year (2009 and 2011 so far).
Would be nice to get to the point of creating one every year, but it takes a lot of time. We start in August with members sending in photos in order to have a calender ready to go to print by around October 15. Then we take orders and ship from the end of October all the up to March-April.

2013 will be here before we know it!

The Calendar work starts earlier than August.

Last time we took submissions from the CKCA Membership from mid June through the end of July. The next job was selecting knife images that met the criteria and lastly was Buddy actually doing the most difficult job, doing the technical work.

I agree that it would be nice to have a calendar every year, but it is a a lot of work.

I know the calendar is a lot of work for the people putting it together and I thank each of you for the outstading job you have done in the past.

I was wondering if there might be a way of putting together an 18 month or 24 month calendar. This way you wouldn't have to do it every year, but we would have calendar coverage without interuption.

Just thinking outloud.

Take care

Charles

I agree with Kevin, Charles. I'll be submitting a 2013 calendar proposal to the board and we'll consider this. More pages = more costs.

I would hope folks would spring for a few more $s to get a 2 year calendar with a lot more beautiful knives. Would you?

Yes, I would be happy to pay a few more dollars.

I don't know how the printers price there services, but one 2 year calendar might be cheaper than two 1 year calendars.

Take care

Yep, I believe the 24 month calendar is the way to Go.
Great idea Charles.

So members, get those beautiful knife photos ready, we are going to need a bunch to fill all those pages.

I think a 24 month calendar is an excellent idea as well. I will gladly pay extra and would suspect most others will as well.

So will a 2013/2014 Calendar be available? When should we start to send in photos? We are already mid-August....

Good question Mary.
Definitely too late for a 2013 calendar now. I thought we were on track to produce a calendar but I guess not.
