Hey folks. I have been out of town for the past 10-12 days, not sure at this point. We just got back and am ready to go back to work in the shop.
We went hiking up some Utah Canyons looking for petrigliphs that the general public does not know of or that the state does not of. We found some doozies. We were looking for the Anazai ones.
I should be able to check back in here again now.

Yes, I will try to sort through them. I found one rare one that has me perplexed so I am doing the research on it trying to figure out what it means. I talked to some Navaho to find out but they did not know either as this one goes back much futher. It was in a box canyon were they according to the rest of the markings they would drive the herd type animals in to kill them to eat. At those markings it lets them know that at that approx location they could harvest, sheep, deer and elk.

Anazai means ancient enemy in Navajo. In many places they mark them out or put their own desins over them. One tribe that was before the Anazai is the Fremont. There pictures go back thousands of years. Hope you had a good time and only brought back one wife ;-).;)

Chuck, this was of a figure in a boat on the water. Very clear. Odd is that it is in the desert miles away from the nearest waters.
We were in the Zion wilderness areas

Zion is one awesome place. I will send the pictures to you this weekend. Glad your back safe and sound. Some of the "glyps" look like spaceman to!

I noticed that too. Man, there was some deep holes up there.
I did get one what I thought was funny story from the area. we had went hiking up into one of the canyons and found a late 1800's cabin 3 miles from the last point you could drive a car to, it was what I called rough hking as it was up and down, over bolders crossing a creek a dozen times etc. The folks that lived there was 4 days to the nearest town and 4 back, too rough for kids to go on. So when they left they tied each small child to a goat each so they would have something to feed on till the parents got back.
