Some of you may remember last year we had strong member support for both esophagus and
pancreatic cancer research to receive our annual donation.
Our 2013 CKCA Benefit Knife Set, A Bowie and a Folder, will be produced by the Artisans of
Cutlery (A.C.E.) group, Tom Ferry, Jon Christiensen, Mike Vagnino, David Lisch, and Michael
Ruth Jr. This set will begin for raffle starting at the Blade Show 2013.

The CKCA - Jerry Fisk Cutlery Challenge is an opportunity for CKCA members who are full-time
and part-time knife makers, (forge and/or stock removal) to be awarded an endowment of
$15,000 for creating the most innovative knife they have ever done.
We announced our three winning recipients at our 2012 CKCA Annual Banquet.
Robert Kaufmann, James R Cook and Elizabeth Loerchner were selected from many entrants.
Each of the three winner's pieces will be on display at various museums to introduce visitors to
their appeal as knife collecting is becoming the fastest growing collectable field in the art
industry.
At the CKCA Banquet at the Blade Show 2013 the winning Knife Innovation Project will be
selected by our distinguished panel of judges and winning knifemaker will be introduced and
celebrated as the 2013 CKCA-Jerry Fisk Cutlery Challenge Winner.
